Buying a drone for yourself or someone else? Before you fly, know the rules!

A drone is an aircraft – which operated safely, can be exciting and fun to fly.

In order to get the most out of your new acquisition, protect it from “newbie flyer” damage and to understand the rules of the air so you comply with the law, a drone pilot beginner course is well worth the investment.

It is your responsibility to fly legally (within CAA’s part 101 and 102 rules) so your drone doesn’t create a risk to aircraft, people or property (no one wants their new drone confiscated or crash damaged).

Our courses are interesting, interactive and most importantly applicable to all drone pilots.

We teach you:

  • Learn how to look after your drone, prolong battery life and keep your drone in the best condition for as long as possible. Keep your drone batteries, gimbal, camera and you happy.
  • Principles of flight, how your drone flies and all the things it – and you can do.
  • About airspace and what you are and aren’t allowed to do with your drone. As far as CAA are concerned your drone is an aircraft, and as a pilot you MUST adhere to airspace rules. Enforcement of those rules is increasing, as more drones are out flying in the same space as other aircraft.
  • How to fly safely around people and properly (permissions and considerations).
  • What the limitations of drones are – practical and performance capabilities.
  • You’ll also learn lots of fun and useful stuff from pilots who fly helicopters, planes and model aircraft.

Aviation Training runs CAA certified drone courses for recreational and commercial pilots. We offer commercial drone pilot training but also offer awareness training for recreational operators who want to enjoy their drone confidently, knowing the rules and everything they can and can’t do with their drone.

You’ve invested in your new drone – come see us if you want to squeeze the most value and enjoyment from your drone flying experience.
